Accident Insurance
Even healthy and active pets can have an accident. A fall, an injury or swallowing a foreign object may require veterinary treatment and result in high costs. Accident insurance helps protect your dog or cat against the financial consequences of an accident.
Access Accident Insurance
- Open the animundo Dashboard.
- Scroll to “For you & your pet”.
- Tap “Insurance”.
There you can find more information about accident insurance and view the available options for your pet.
What is covered?
The aniCare subscription includes accident insurance for one dog or cat that does not require an official permit, provided the pet is permanently kept in the insured person’s household and the pet owner resides in Switzerland or Liechtenstein.
Additional pets can be insured for CHF 5.50 per month each.
Assigning the insurance to a pet
In general, accident insurance is assigned directly to a pet. If you have multiple pets, you will be notified that you may need to adjust the assignment as required.
Insurance coverage
This type of coverage is not available elsewhere in this form. The following coverage applies:
- Maximum amount per claim: CHF 1,500
- Co-payment: 20%
- Deductible: CHF 0
Is that enough?
An internal analysis by Animalia shows that in 87% of cases, accident costs are below CHF 1,500.
When does coverage begin and end?
Insurance coverage begins when the insurance is assigned to your pet after taking out the aniCare subscription and ends when the subscription is cancelled.
Where does coverage apply?
The insurance applies in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and neighbouring countries.
In the event of an emergency abroad, Animalia (Vaudoise Insurance) covers treatment costs until the treatment is completed, for a maximum period of three months from the date of the first treatment.
What is not covered?
- Accidents that occurred before coverage began
Accidents and their consequences that occurred before the insurance was assigned after taking out the aniCare subscription. - Plastic or reconstructive surgery

Harm intentionally caused by the pet owner or by persons for whom the pet owner is responsible. - Third-party liability
Damage caused by third parties or other animals that results in civil liability. If no liability insurance exists or the responsible person cannot be identified, Animalia (Vaudoise Insurance) covers the costs. - Reproduction, pregnancy and litter
